Concrete is still a very fashionable material. It is constantly being used in new applications, both indoors and outdoors. Perfect for use on surfaces and floors as an alternative to granite, wood, stones, panels, tiles… It is also used as a material for production of furniture, benches and pots. The popularity of concrete is constantly growing, which is connected with the growing popularity of the modern style. The success of the material is also due to its versatility, practicality and relatively low price.
The use of paving stones and slabs on terraces is also economical. Assembly of concrete pavement using the so called “dry” technology is cheaper and faster (up to about 40%!) than the execution of terraces using the most traditional “wet” method. Terrace slabs or paving stones are laid on a prepared for this purpose foundation, on the ground. Therefore, you do not have to pour out concrete slabs, use expensive adhesives or joints (as is the case with ceramic tiles). Non-glued concrete elements are also quite loosely laid, which makes it easier to replace any damaged parts or to dismantle the terrace.
Concrete is very versatile and this is certainly one of its most important features. It can be used to harden the surface around the house. Paving stones and slabs are ideal for use in gardens, on terraces, sidewalks, driveways… Using the same material – stones or slabs of similar or identical color and shape – in many places within the property allows for creation of a coherent arrangement. Stones with thickness between 4 and 6 cm are usually sufficient around the houses.

It is also important to rely on the material that can be used in many places near the building. In such a case, the paving stones or concrete slabs will be able to play an important role – they will become the composition frame of the whole arrangement and unify the space. Due to the possibility of being used indoors (concrete furniture, slabs, pots), concrete also allows for the unification of the interior and exterior of the house.
Concrete stones and slabs are available in a very wide range of colors and styles. We can easily choose from them those that will match the colors and style of our property. However, the great variety of products can lead to considerable design mistakes and aesthetic chaos. When buying stones, put your trust in moderation. Choose a maximum of 3 harmoniously selected colors, and also try to match the color to the roof, facade or some other element that dominates the house environment. Also pay attention to the stylistic link between the surface and the character of the building and its surroundings.
